Backpack is a next-generation crypto platform combining trading, wallets, payments, and yield products into a unified ecosystem focused on speed, simplicity, security, and seamless cross-platform experiences for both everyday users and advanced traders.

Backpack was rapidly expanding with new and increasingly advanced products and services, creating the need for a more cohesive and scalable product experience and design system. I led product design transformation across the trading platform, mobile app, and wallet, helping evolve Backpack from a simple exchange into a multi-product ecosystem. This included designing and launching new features, scaling the design system, and delivering seamless experiences across onboarding, trading, funding, staking, and portfolio management.

Trading is built around a clean, structured interface that reduces complexity and keeps key data, positions, balances, and markets easy to scan. The layout minimizes context switching, helping users act quickly in fast moving conditions.

Portfolio

The portfolio presents holdings in a clear, digestible format that highlights balances, allocations, and performance without overwhelming the user. Information is grouped logically so users can quickly understand their exposure and track how their assets are performing over time. The left navigation on desktop provides a persistent view of accounts, making it easy to switch between them while maintaining context.

Points

The Points page makes user activity across the platform visible, measurable, and rewarding. It aggregates actions like trading, holding assets, and participating in campaigns into a single, easy to understand metric, giving users a clear sense of progress over time.

Badges and achievements are built into the experience to highlight clear milestones tied to specific behaviors, turning engagement into visible accomplishments. Together, they add motivation and personality while keeping the interface clean and intuitive.

Lend / Earn

Lend/Earn is Backpack’s yield platform, enabling users to generate passive returns through lending, staking, and on-chain yield products within a seamless trading ecosystem.

The design focused on making complex lending and borrowing flows feel clear, transparent, and tightly integrated with the broader trading experience. Real-time market data, APYs, balances, and positions were structured into a clean and highly scannable interface built for fast decision-making.

BP token & Staking

BP is Backpack’s staking and utility token, designed to reward long-term participation through fee discounts, yield benefits, and access to future platform features and programs. The page gives users a clear overview of their positions while simplifying staking, rewards tracking, and account activity. It also makes staking benefits and tokenomics easier to understand, highlighting how staking BP unlocks lower fees, expanded access, and exclusive opportunities, while supply unlocks progressively alongside key product and regulatory milestones.
